Alberto Soto, 73, of Milford, passed away on November 5, 2025. Born on July 6, 1952 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Eduardo and Ana Soto.
A lifelong sports fan, Alberto could always be counted on to share his opinions on the latest headline, whether it be predicting which team would win or which player would get traded at the end of the season. He followed politics and the news closely, especially stories from Puerto Rico and his community, often with the CT Post folded by his side.
He loved the color, pride, and joy of the Puerto Rican Day parades, where he felt most connected to his roots. Food was another love language of his; he was happiest when people cooked for him, never turning down a good meal or the chance to share one.

Above all, Alberto was generous, loving, and endlessly social. He had a rare gift for seeing the good in everyone, and people naturally gravitated toward his warmth and humor. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every often moment spent with them.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, community, and laughter — a reminder to always welcome others with an open heart and a full plate.
Alberto is survived by his children, Michelle “Chelita” (Robert) Santiago and Diana “Dianita” (Joseph) Kavanagh; his grandchildren, Eva, Celeste, Michael, Camilla, and Violet; his siblings, Rafael Soto, Irma Soto, and Manuel Soto; as well as many nieces and nephews.
