Kristin Huffman, Artistic Director of NPT, Broadway veteran, and professor at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School, will also lead a pre-event workshop on “Audition Prep” at noon and after the event, a panel discussion. Audience members and participants may ask insider questions about the industry. “Mentoring is a large component of NPT’s mission statement," says Huffman.

The Broadway Star event is also the “audition” for NPT’s annual Holiday show, Dec 21st, in Stratford this year! Every participant in this event in October will be offered the opportunity to be in the Holiday show as well as NPT’s co-production of Oklahoma with the Norwalk Symphony in February.

Networking is crucial in the Entertainment industry and the performers who participate will meet and receive feedback from: Mark Aldrich (Broadway performer and author) Paul Bogaev (Grammy and Emmy winner, Music Producer); Gwendolyn Jones (Broadway and National tours); Tiffany T’Zelle (Gospel and Pop professional) and Kyle Gonyea (National tours and Professor at AMDA)

The audience and all participants will also vote on the "John Boys Fan Favorite" award. That performer will win $100.

Pre-registration for participants is required (only 20 allowed). This event is filling up so don’t wait!

Audience members can also attend for $10 at the door.
