Christmas Holiday Closures, Announcements In Stratford

Officials announce the schedule for town buildings and trash collection for Christmas, starting on Wednesday, Dec. 24.

STRATFORD, CT — Officials are advising residents that Stratford Town Hall and Public Works will close at 12 noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, with the Baldwin Center and the offices of the Tax Collector, Tax Assessor, and Town Clerk closing at 11:30 a.m.

Officials are advising residents to plan accordingly.

Sanitation Schedule: There will be NO refuse or recycling collection on Thursday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Jan. 1, in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day. All routes will be one day late with Friday’s route to be collected on Saturday. The Transfer Station on Watson Boulevard will be CLOSED on Dec. 25, and Jan. 1.

The collection of yard waste was suspended for the season on Dec. 22. That was the last day of collection.

Collection will resume again in April. During the winter months, residents can bring yard waste to the Transfer Station on Watson Boulevard. Residents are reminded that only grass, leaves in paper bags or cans, and branches no longer than 4’ and 1” in diameter tied in bundles or placed in the bags or cans will be collected with yard waste. Plastic bags, plastic planters, dirt and rocks will not be collected.
