Crews Recover Body Of Child From Housatonic River: Stratford Police
The boy fell into the river Wednesday near the Birdseye Boat Ramp, police said.

STRATFORD, CT — At 2 p.m. Friday, police said the body of the missing six-year-old child, who fell off of the dock at the Birdseye Boat Ramp on Wednesday, was found floating in the Housatonic River by civilian boaters.
The child was found about one-half mile south from where he fell into the river. Police marine units responded to remove the body from the water, police said.
His body was taken to the Birdseye Boat Ramp aboard the Bridgeport Marine 1 Patrol Boat, police said.

The family of the child was notified by both police and fire personnel. The child's body was taken to the State of Connecticut Medical Examiners Office, where an autopsy will be conducted, police said.
