Crash On I-95 Leads To Lane Closure, Lengthy Delays In Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CT — It was a mess on the Merritt Parkway from Greenwich to Stratford from 5 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. due to debris on the road on the northbound side between exits 52 and 53 in Stratford.

But fortunately, the debris has been removed and all the delays and lane closure have been removed from the state DOT's website. Earlier delays on the northbound side from Wallingford to Woodbridge have also been cleared.

A multi vehicle crash on I-95 northbound between Exits 17 and 18 in Westport was reported at 6:45 p.m. and the left and center lanes are closed. Numerous delays have been reported. As of 7:40 p.m. the Westport crash has been cleared, though delays remain.

Earlier delays on Route 8 in Trumbull have also been removed from the DOT's website.

I-95 delays

GREENWICH - Road Work on I-95 Southbound between Exit 3 and NEW YORK LINE (2.7 miles) in effect today until Wednesday, April 16 at 6:00 am. The left lane is closed. Reported Tuesday, April 15 at 7:05 pm.

FAIRFIELD - Delays. I-95 Northbound is congested between Exits 15 and 18 (3.2 miles). Reported Tuesday, April 15 at 7:01 pm.

NORWALK - Road Work on US7 Southbound between Exit 3 and END OF US 7 SB (1.9 miles) in effect today until Wednesday, April 16 at 6:00 am. Expect lane closures. Reported Tuesday, April 15 at 7:18 pm.
