Future Leaders: Bunnell Student Hopes To Work As Clinical Pharmacist

Patch and T-Mobile are teaming up to present a look at future leaders in the community.

STRATFORD, CT — Patch and T-Mobile are teaming up to present a look at future leaders in the community, and Jenna Bernardo in Stratford is certainly on the right track.

Bernardo, 17, is a senior at Bunnell High School and serves as the school’s student representative for the Board of Education.

She is a part of the National Honors Society, the Science National Honor Society, and the National English Honor Society, where she serves as the secretary.

Her interests include dancing, going for walks/hikes, traveling, cooking, and baking.

In the community, Bernardo is the 2024 Barnum Festival Queen, as well as the youth volunteer of the year for the Stratford YMCA.

“My future plans are to attend UConn to study pharmacy,” she told Patch. “I hope to end up working as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting.

“To me, a leader isn’t someone that holds a title or holds power but is someone that influences, inspires, and guides others. A leader is someone that will hold themselves to a high ethical standard, but will also prioritize the needs of their team or a community. Rather than focusing on a personal gain, they will focus on collective success. Leadership is more about the actions you take and impacts you make than a position.”
