Holiday Concerts Set At Stratford Library: Here’s What To Know

The Stratford Library will present a series of free holiday concerts in December.

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford, will present four special holiday concerts in December. The annual event is sponsored in part this year by the Richard Pheneger Memorial Fund.

The holiday schedule includes “Joy to the World” on Dec. 7, The New England Guitar Society (Dec. 14), Childs & Herscovitch (Dec. 16) and a Christmas Opera Concert (Dec. 21). The concerts will be held in the Library’s Lovell Room and are free and open to the public.

“Joy to the World” welcomes musicians Judy Handler and Mark Levesque to the Library with their unique program and special arrangements of Christmas and Hanukkah music for the guitar and mandolin. The concert begins at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7.

The New England Guitar Society is a favorite of Stratford Library audiences and have visited Stratford for many years now. NEGS offers the best of classical guitar in a seasonal mood for the concert on Dec. 14 at 2 p.m.

Pianist David Childs and singer/songwriter Lara Herscovitch will perform on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. Opera singer Stefano Russo will bring to life the memory of Luciano Pavarotti through his famous arias accompanied at the piano by acclaimed pianist Eric Trudel.

The Christmas Opera Concert will conclude the holiday series on Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.
