House Fire Extinguished In Stratford: Officials
Crews responded to the fire on Friday afternoon.
STRATFORD, CT — Crews extinguished a house fire in Stratford on Friday afternoon, according to officials.
The Stratford Communication Center received multiple 911 calls around 2:50 p.m. on Aug. 22 reporting fire from the structure of a home on McPadden Drive, according to officials.
“This report summoned a residential structure fire assignment consisting of all on duty fire apparatus, under the direction of Assistant Chief Mathew Morse, for a total of 22 firefighters,” officials wrote in a news release. “Upon arrival of the first due apparatus, crews quickly found the source of the fire on the exterior of the building and quickly worked to contain the fire to the area of origin, limiting damage to the structure.

“Rescue crews entered the residence to search for occupants and limit fire spread. All occupants were able to exit the residence safely as instructed from the Fire Dispatcher. Stratford EMS units were called to the scene for support.”
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Stratford Fire Marshals office. The Red Cross was also called to the scene to assist the displaced residents, according to officials.

“The Stratford Fire department would like to remind our residents to have working smoke detectors, regularly practice an escape plan for residential homes, and call 911 immediately upon observation of smoke or fire,” officials wrote.
