Residents are advised that as of September 2, 2024, they must use the newly issued 96- or 64-gallon containers. Only refuse or recycling contained in the new Town issued containers will be collected. Refuse or recycling left loose next to the containers WILL NOT be collected. This includes bags or cardboard. Also, paint, oil or any other liquid should not be placed in your refuse or recycling containers.
Plastic bags cannot be included in your recycling container. This includes the special recycling bags that are currently being sold. The bags get stuck in the sorting equipment at the recycling drop off center causing the entire truck load to be rejected as contaminated. We have been advised by the recycling drop off center not to accept plastic bags of any type from now on.
