Latin Music Festival In Stratford: Here’s What To Know Before You Go

STRATFORD, CT — The Town of Stratford and the Stratford Hispanic Heritage Committee are proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the 20th annual Latin Music Festival, sponsored by the Stratford Economic & Community Development Commission.

The popular event is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 14 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a rain date of Sept. 21. The event will take place on Paradise Green.

The celebration continues on Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. with the Hispanic Heritage Flag Raising Ceremony on the steps of Town Hall at 2725 Main Street.

The celebration of Latin culture will showcase performances by notable Latin bands and folkloric dance groups. The festival will feature more than 45 vendors, including food trucks, arts and crafts booths and community organizations.

The theme for Hispanic Heritage Month 2025 is centered around "a celebration of honor culture," which emphasizes pride in roots, identity, and traditions through storytelling and cultural legacy.

The festival kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.

“The Latin Music Festival was selected as a finalist for the 2025 National League of Cities (NLC) Cultural Diversity Awards Program,” Stratford Mayor Laura R. Hoydick said. “This esteemed program recognizes municipalities who foster connection and engagement among residents from all backgrounds. This recognition is a perfect way to celebrate, in its 20th year, the festival's longevity and its cultural impact.

“It's clear that the Latin Music Festival is a testament to the rich diversity and vibrant culture in Stratford, and we are honored the NLC recognized the festival for its contribution to our community.”

Gladys Ramos, founder of the Stratford Hispanic Heritage Committee, said: “The Latin Music Festival reflects the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating pride in our heritage and carrying forward the traditions that shape our identity. The festival highlights the importance of sharing and embracing all the many cultures in Stratford, honoring traditions through music while celebrating the stories that unite us.”

Parking is available throughout the festival at Adzima Funeral Home at 50 Paradise Green Place, M&T Bank at 3395 Main Street and the Stratford Unitarian Universalist Church at 275 Huntington Road, and at the Stratford Baptist Church at 131 Huntington Road beginning at 1 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the festivities.
