Maura Ann Bogan, age 73, of Newtown, Connecticut entered peaceful rest on December 11, 2025 in Danbury Hospital.
Maura was born on August 18, 1952 in Northampton, Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Elizabeth J. (Crane) Bogan and Hugh F. Bogan. Maura worked at Cartus in Danbury for many years before her retirement. Maura received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Theater from Western Connecticut State University. Maura loved the New York theatre and had a huge collection of PLAYBILLS! She loved taking her young niece and nephews on “adventures” and took particular joy in introducing them to the Broadway theatre. Maura was also very proud to be involved with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Southbury Volunteer Fire Department in the early 2000’s. And as so many of her friends and extended family members know, when we lost Maura we lost one of the world’s greatest card senders!
Maura is survived by her devoted siblings, Christopher Bogan (Maris) of Stratford, Patricia Leigh, Martha (Bill) Fay of Leland, NC, and Jane Bogan of Las Vegas, NV, along with five loving nieces and nephews, Kate (Sean) Dwyer, Thomas Leigh (Heather) of NV, Michael and Brendan Bogan of CT and Gregory Bogan (Hillary) of TX, as well as beloved cousins and grand nephews.
