Obituary: Charles "Chuck" P. Cambras , 68, of Stratford

Charles, always proud of his Greek heritage, retired from Master Electric after many years of service and was a devoted family man.

STRATFORD, CT - (From William R. McDonald Funeral Home) Charles P. Cambras ”Chuck”, age 68, of Stratford, beloved husband of Beverly (Corris) Cambras, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Mr. Cambras was born April 23, 1953 in Bridgeport, son of the late Alexander Cambras and Esther (Carafinas) Cambras and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Bunnell High School and was retired from Master Electric.

Chuck came from a close Greek family, and as a child enjoyed summer vacations on the Jersey Shore with his Papastrat relatives.

He adored his wife and family, and his many pets. He was an ardent lover of all genres of music, and enjoyed sharing memories of the musicians and bands he had seen over the years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with the many friends he made throughout his life.

Survivors, in addition to his wife and mother, include his brother William Cambras and wife Elizabeth of Stratford; his nephew Jonathan Cambras and wife Kaitlin of Pennsylvania; his niece and goddaughter Jennifer Cambras and husband Duncan Miller of New Jersey, nieces Tracy Carvahlo and husband John, and Carie Virtrudes; his sister-in-law Barbara Tabaka and husband Robert, his brothers-in-law Gary Corris and wife Catherine, and Theodore Corris and wife Laura; his step-son Joseph Smith; granddaughter Adeline Smith; and several cousins and great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange, CT 06477.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Church prior to the service. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT.

Face masks and social distancing will be required.
