Obituary: Daniel 'Bear' Scott Kenney, 56, Of Stratford

Danny, an avid comic book enthusiast, left an impression on everyone he met and was known for his contagious smile and laughter.

STRATFORD, CT - (From Keenan Funeral Home) Daniel “Bear” Scott Kenney passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday morning.

Danny was predeceased by his parents Herman C. Kenney and Elizabeth “Williams” Kenney of Stratford, and his brothers Theodore A. Kenney, Timothy D. Kenney.

He was born on March 12th, 1965 in Milford, CT, he graduated from Stratford High School in 1983, and was employed by the USPS for many years.

Danny left an impression on everyone he met, with his contagious smile and laughter. He always knew how to make everyone in the room laugh until they cried. He was an avid comic book collector and enthusiast and a child at heart.

He loved playing video games with his nieces and nephews, and had an expansive collection of comics, Godzilla’s, toys, and other media from all his favorite franchises, including Ben Grimam, know as the Thing of the Fantastic Four.

He is survived by his brothers Robert J. Kenney of East Hampton, David A. Kenney “Susan” of Cape Coral, Fl., John J Kenney “Charlene” of West Haven, Kyle A. Kenney of Wallingford, and the love of his life Jeanne Murray of Old Saybrook, his cubs from prior marriage Brittany, Rachael, Matthew, numerous nieces and nephews, including the honorable mentions Cindy & Nicole.

Danny would want us all to put on our best Dallas Cowboys gear or Marvel attire to celebrate his life and the love he showed each and everyone of us.
