Obituary: Edward George Samuleman, 79, of Stratford

Ed, a competitive rifleman and member of the Stratford PAL, worked in construction and was a proud member of the CT Carpenter's Union.

STRATFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Edward George Samuleman, 79, of Stratford, passed away in his home on April 3, 2021. Born on February 6, 1942 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late George and Susan (Norkus) Samuleman.

Ed lived in Stratford as a child and young adult graduating from Stratford High. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves after high school.

He had a longtime career in the construction industry and was a proud CT Carpenter’s Union member during his entire career.

In his youth, Ed was a competitive rifleman as well as a member of the Stratford PAL.

d also had a love for fishing both fresh and saltwater which he passed on to his daughter Christine. As an adult Ed also was an avid bowler and was in many leagues, once he gave up his bowling, he found he really enjoyed Mohegan Sun!

Ed was a fun loving guy! He was always up for playing pranks on friends and family. He also was quite a storyteller and had some crazy stories, which would be entertaining, and they would seem to crack him up as he was telling them!

If there was a party, he was part of it. He was a kid at heart and it showed! He will be so truly missed!

Ed is survived by his children, Christine (John) MacFadyen, Michael (Marie) Samuleman and Deann Uberti; his grandchildren, James, Patrick, Joseph, Katelyn, Destiny and Isabella; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his sister, Anna, his two infant brothers, and his granddaughter, Arianna.

A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be celebrated on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Friends and family may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will be private. Due to gathering restrictions, a limited number of people will be allowed inside at a time. Masks and social distancing will be required.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital.
