Obituary: George Jeff Francis O'Connor III, 66, formerly of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT - (From Pistey Funeral Home) George Francis O'Connor III (aka Jeff), 66 years old, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long illness on April 16, 2022 in San Diego.

Jeff is the son of the late George Francis and Katherine S. O'Connor of Stratford. He is predeceased by his brother John Thomas O'Connor, Raymond Joseph O'Connor and Katherine D. "Katie" O'Connor.

Jeff graduated from Bunnell High School in 1974 where he was an all-state swimmer. He moved to California and resided in Ocean Beach, San Diego since 1977.

Jeff enjoyed life to the fullest and was an avid swimmer and fisherman. He was a skilled carpenter and contractor. He will always have a special place in the hearts of all his loved ones.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth O'Connor, his wife, Amy L. O'Connor, sister Emily O'Connor Karolyi, brother James Andrew O'Connor and his wife Daria Cardone O'Connor, sister-in-law Carolyn Mugar (widow of his brother John Thomas O'Connor) and many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his cousins Robert B. O'Connor, Dr. Carol Morton and Joan O. Kolski. Jeff is a brother-in-law to Pamela Glefke, James Lutz and Mary Lutz Soto also of California.

Visitation hours at Pistey Funeral Home are Tuesday, April 26th from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Rd., Stratford on Wednesday, April 27th at 10:30 a.m.

Burial following the Mass at Union Cemetery in Stratford.
