Obituary: Irene Gazdik Kelly, 84

Irene Gazdik Kelly, age 84, of Stratford, beloved wife of Richard Kelly, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 in her home.

Mrs. Kelly, a homemaker was born in Bridgeport to the late Wasil and Anna (Dransak) Gazdik, and has been a long-time area resident.

She was a graduate of Harding High School. Irene enjoyed painting, decorating, taking walks, and trips to the casino.

Survivors in addition to her beloved husband include her devoted children Kevin Kelly and his wife Patricia of Ohio, and Kathleen Hirschbeck and her husband Vincent of Stratford, five grandchildren Shawn Kelly and his wife Holly, Erin Fife and her husband Dale, Kelly, Kasey and Brett Hirschbeck, three great-grandchildren Katie, Ryan, and Molly, a sister Susan Masikiewicz of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews.

Irene’s family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers Ewa, Monica, and Grace for their kind and compassionate care.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 7 at 9:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment in St. John’s Cemetery will be private. Friends may call on Friday from 9- 9:30 a.m.
