Obituary: Janet Ann Roberts, 79, of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT - (From Pistey Funeral Home) On March 25, 2022, Janet Ann Roberts, age 79, passed away peacefully in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Janet was born on December 9, 1942 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the daughter of Watson and Anna Federowicz.

Janet was a proud member of the first graduating class of Notre Dame High School of Bridgeport in 1960.

In 1964, she married her late husband of 58 years, Michael “Bunny” Roberts. While residing in Stratford, Janet raised two children and worked at their family clothing store, Young Crowd, for many years before serving as Stratford’s Purchasing Agent for over a decade.

She could also be found enjoying her summers at the family beach cottage in Lordship.

Janet will be remembered fondly for her sense of humor, generosity, and kind heart. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Janet took great pleasure in cooking, baking, and caring for her family, and unremittingly shared her love at every holiday, birthday, and special occasion.

Janet is remembered with love and gratitude by many, but especially by her children: son Christopher Roberts and wife Suzan of Stratford, CT; daughter Susan Bonaventura and her husband Darren of Trumbull; her grandchildren Owen and Olivia Bonaventura and Mia Roberts; her sister Mary Lou Gross and husband Richard Gross; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Michael, in 2021.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mark’s Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford on Wednesday, March 30th, at 10:00 am.
