Obituary: Joan (Carlson) Doyle, 83, of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT - (From William R. McDonald Funeral Home)Joan (Carlson) Doyle, age 83, of Stratford, beloved wife of Michael Doyle, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 in Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Doyle was born August 7, 1937 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Martin and Julia (Racine) Carlson and had been a lifelong area resident.

Joan enjoyed reading, gardening, going on road trips with her friends, cooking, taking walks around the neighborhood, and making delicious holiday meals.

She had a very special bond with her next door neighbors and enjoyed talking on the phone to “catch up”.

Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to her husband, include her son, Mark Doyle and his wife Tina; a loving daughter Debbie; two grandchildren, Samantha and Steven Doyle, and two very special nieces Kandis Sykes and Tammy Murray.

She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Carlson.All funeral services will be private.
