Obituary: Kathie J. Madore, 69, formerly of Stratford
Kathie, known as a jokester with an infectious laugh, loved to travel and was a devoted mother and friend to many.
STRATFORD, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Kathie J. Madore, age 69, passed away suddenly on April 23, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, Kathie was the daughter of the late Raymond Hugh and Maidie Page Dick Rogers.
Kathie graduated from Stratford High School in 1970. Currently, she was employed at Cumberland Farms, Orange as a cashier. She was quite a jokester with an infectious laugh and once she started, she would “Mack truck” as she liked to call it.
Never one to stay put for too long, Kathie traveled the world, including Ireland, Scotland, and Hawaii. Her favorite restaurants included Texas Roadhouse and Chili’s where she enjoyed ordering a Mai Tai or a Captain Morgan and Coke, as the captain was her “Main Man”.
She always said when she retired, it would be to Tahiti with a cabana boy!
The sudden loss of Kathie is almost unbearable to her daughter Miranda and her fiancé Jeremy (Spud); her son Corey, her sister Karen and niece Christine Lesczczynski, her many nieces and nephews and her best friend Penny Labombarde.
Although she adored the characters Eeyore and Grinch, Kathie’s favorites were her cats Luna and Phoebe and the late Josie. In addition to her parents, her brother John “Yogi” Rogers predeceases her.
On Tuesday May 3, visitation for Kathie will take place between 4 and 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. There are no other services.
