Obituary: Mary H. Charak, 96, of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT - (From Adzima Funeral Home) Mary H. Charak, age 96, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late George R. Charak, passed away on June 22, 2022, in her home.

Mary was born in Bridgeport on January 4, 1926, to the late John and Susie (Sencik) Hajas and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a longtime member of Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport.

Survivors include her devoted daughter, Lauren Prentice and her husband Jeff of Texas, 4 cherished grandchildren, Lynore McMahon, Maris Huffman, Justin Prentice, and Kyle Collazo, 5 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Claire Hayas, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her daughter, Linda Collazo, and her brother, Michael Hayas.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, June 30th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.

Panachida Service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place Friday, July 1, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Very Rev. Steven Voytovich officiating Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford.
