Obituary: Mychajlo "Mike" Buryj, 95, of Stratford
Mychajlo, a man of great faith and always proud of his Ukrainian heritage, was a dedicated employee of Sikorsky Aircraft for many years.

STRATFORD, CT - (From Pistey Funeral Home) Mychajlo "Mike" Buryj, age 95, of Stratford, loving husband of the late Julia Buryj, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
Born in Ukraine, he and Julia emigrated to the United States over 70 years ago. He and Julia raised their family in Stratford where Mike was employed and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft. Mr. Buryj was extremely proud of his Ukrainian heritage.
His children and grandchildren were his world, and he enjoyed every moment spent with them, and they felt the same way about him. A man of great faith, he participated in his church in various capacities.
Survivors include three beloved children, Jerry Buryj and his wife, Debbie, of Bermuda, Dan Buryj and his wife, Vickie, of FL and Lesia Wuchek of Stratford; five grandchildren, Mikaela Buryj, Michael Wuchek and his wife, Stacy, Julie Melissano, Stephanie Marinaccio and her husband, Brett and Dan Buryj; four great-grandchildren, Shelby Wuchek, Isabella and Valentina Melissano and Caitlyn Marinaccio; and his relatives in Ukraine, brother Ivan and sister, Lesia and special cousin, Bohdan.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by son-in-law, Michael Wuchek and brother, Vasyl.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 9 a.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 10 a.m. at Holy Protection of the BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church, 255 Barnum Avenue, Bridgeport officiated by Rev. Ivan Mazuryk.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Panikhyda service 5 p.m.
