Overturned Vessel Reported In River: Stratford Firefighters

Fire officials said an overturned vessel was reported in a local river and residents are asked to avoid the area on land and in the water.

STRATFORD, CT — An overturned vessel was reported Friday afternoon in a river in Stratford, according to fire officials.

In a post on the Stratford Professional Firefighters IAFF 998 Facebook page, fire officials said around 4 p.m. units were operating at an overturned vessel in the river off of Housatonic Avenue.

Residents are asked to avoid the area on land and in the water, according to fire officials.
