Police Seize Fentanyl, Cocaine In Drug Bust: Stratford Police
A man is accused of distributing fentanyl and cocaine to "street level drug dealers" who then sold the drugs throughout town, police said.

STRATFORD, CT — Two Ansonia men were recently arrested in connection with a drug investigation in Stratford, according to police.
The Stratford Police Department’s Narcotics, Vice and Intelligence Unit received information in January that a man was distributing fentanyl and cocaine to “street level drug dealers,” according to Stratford Police Capt. Jerry Pinto.
Pinto said the street level drug dealers would then sell the drugs to people throughout Stratford.

William Pjura, 29, of Ansonia, was identified as the person who was distributing the fentanyl and cocaine, according to Pinto.
Authorities executed four search and seizure warrants March 7 in connection with the investigation of Pjura, according to police.

Pinto said the search warrants pertained to homes in Ansonia and Shelton, a 2010 Cadillac and Pjura.
Following the searches, Pinto said police seized approximately 42 grams of crack/cocaine, approximately 84 grams of fentanyl, a large assortment of oxycodone pills, a 2010 Cadillac CTS and $1,600 cash.
Pjura was arrested on charges of operation of an illegal drug factory, illegal possession of a narcotic substance with intent to sell crack cocaine, illegal possession with intent to sell 1 ounce or more of heroin/fentanyl, illegal possession with intent to sell controlled substances and illegal possession of methadone/narcotics with intent to sell. He was being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond with a court date of March 17.
George Rich, 60, who Pinto said also lives at the home in Ansonia, was also arrested during the execution of the search warrant.
Rich was charged with illegal possession of narcotics and illegally obtaining prescriptions. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond with a court date of March 17.
The NVI Unit was assisted with the execution of the search warrants by the New Haven DEA Task Force, the Bridgeport DEA Task Force, the Bridgeport FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotic Task Force, according to Pinto.
