Recent High School Graduate Killed In Crash In Stratford, Mourned By Community

The community is mourning the death of a recent high school graduate who was killed in a crash in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — The community is mourning the death of a recent Bunnell High School graduate who was killed in a crash over the weekend in Stratford.

The Connecticut Post reports Ryan Julian has been identified as the person who died in a one-vehicle crash that happened around 3:35 a.m. Saturday on Nichols Avenue in Stratford.

A vehicle carrying five people between the ages of 16 to 24 struck a tree in the 1100 block of Nichols Avenue, according to the Post. Julian was later pronounced dead, while one person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and three others had minor injuries, the Post reported.

Julian graduated from Bunnell in June and was a member of the football team.

The Bunnell football team posted a tribute to Julian on its Facebook page.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Ryan Julian, a 2025 senior graduate of Bunnell High School and a beloved member of the 2024–25 football team,” the post reads. “Ryan will be remembered for his spirit, dedication, and the positive growth he made during his high school career.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, teammates, and the entire Bunnell community during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Ryan. You will always be a part of the Bulldog family.”
