Reward Increased In Case Of 15 Abandoned Cats In Stratford
PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the abandoning of 15 cats in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the abandoning of 15 cats recently in Stratford.
The 15 cats were found in cages abandoned near the intersection of Main Street and River Road in the Putney section of Stratford. The cats were rescued before the heavy rains started that day, according to the Stratford Animal Control.
PETA’s reward is in addition to one offered by Stratford Animal Rescue Society and brings the total potential reward to as much as $5,500, according to officials.

“Animals rely on us to protect them, but instead, someone dumped these cats on the roadside, where they could have starved in the pouring rain,” PETA Senior Vice President Colleen O’Brien said in a statement. “If any other animals remain in this person’s custody, they could be in imminent danger, which is why PETA urges anyone with information about this case to come forward immediately.”
The incident is being investigated by Stratford police.

Police said the cats were left without any food, water, or shelter against the elements.
