Shots Fired At Field Investigated: Stratford Police

Police are investigating a recent shooting that took place at a field in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — Police are investigating a shooting that took place at the Penders Practice Field last Monday in Stratford.

Police responded around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 to a report of shots fired, according to Capt. Jerry Pinto. The Penders Practice Field is located directly across the street from the main field at the intersection of Glendale Road and Charlton Street.

Pinto said detectives found nine spent .45 caliber shell casings scattered on the ground atop the practice field.

Video surveillance showed two groups of males, with each group consisting of three males, meeting at the practice field, according to Pinto.

Pinto said “within seconds of greeting each other,” one of the males is seen pointing a gun at the three males from the other group, and firing nine .45 caliber rounds in their direction.
