The first day of school is an exciting time for children. Yet, back to school shopping can be a struggle for many families, especially since many household budgets are already stretched thin by high inflation. To help with the financial cost, Sikorsky Credit Union hosted Back-to-School Drives in their branches during the summer months. The credit union received many donations, which were provided to their local community partners: Boys & Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley, McGivney Center of Bridgeport, Boys & Girls Club of Milford, Sterling House of Stratford and the Community Action Agency of Western CT.
Ken Ferrari, SVP/Chief Experience Officer at Sikorsky Credit Union commented, “We had another successful Back to School Drive this year. Our members and employees generously donated, and I am proud we can make a difference in our communities by helping kids get a good start this school year.”

Amanda Meeson, Executive Director of the Sterling House was grateful for the school supplies and shared “Shiny new backpacks, fresh crayons and sharpened pencils are so important to our kids feeling ready and excited to go back to school each year. In the last few weeks, we have distributed supplies to close to 300 students. Thank you to Sikorsky Credit Union for their donation to help prepare our Stratford students!”
