Stratford Fireworks 2025: Heavy Traffic Delays Expected, Officials Say

Officials are advising residents to plan accordingly for traffic delays and to review the new traffic map for the town's fireworks display.

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford Mayor Laura Hoydick is encouraging all residents to plan accordingly and allow additional travel time on Wednesday night (July 2) due to the town’s annual fireworks show and a closure on Lordship Boulevard.

The town has a new traffic flow map for this year’s event, and a hotline has been set up for real-time traffic updates or weather-related impacts.

“Please pay close attention to the traffic map for this year's event since there is currently only one road in and out of Lordship,” Hoydick wrote in a post on Facebook. “The Town has been working closely with Public Safety, Public Works, and Traffic to develop the best possible plan under the circumstances—one that prioritizes safety, maintains emergency access, and aims to improve traffic flow to the greatest extent feasible. We are emphasizing to the public that delays should be expected, and we strongly encourage all residents to plan accordingly and allow additional travel time.”

For Lordship residents: Please note, both lanes on Main Street/Stratford Road will be used for event exit once Fireworks have finished so there will be no inbound traffic to Lordship during that time frame, which is projected to be around/between 9:30-10:30pm.
