Stratford Home Invasion Suspects Arrested In New Jersey, New York: PD

Police said several suspects are believed to have stolen $200,000 worth of vehicles and valuables in the Tri-State area since July.

STRATFORD, CT — An 18-year-old New Jersey resident and a juvenile have been arrested in connection with a home invasion investigation in Stratford, according to police.

Stratford police responded to a home in the Lordship section of town on July 15 on the report of a home invasion, according to Capt. Jerry Pinto.

Pinto said responding officers determined that several suspects had entered the occupied home during the early morning hours and stole the victim’s vehicle and other valuables.

The suspects also removed the registration plates from other vehicles in the same neighborhood, according to Pinto.

The Narcotics, Vice and Intelligence Unit and the Fairfield County Auto Theft Task Force took over the investigation.

“With the assistance of the State of Connecticut-Juvenile Probation Division, the Sayreville, New Jersey Police Department, the New York City Police Department and New Jersey State Police, the main suspect of this incident was identified as Ryeim Robinson,” Pinto wrote in a news release.

Robinson, 18, of Newark, New Jersey, is also a suspect in other similar incidents throughout Fairfield County, according to Pinto.

Pinto said the investigation determined that Robinson, along with other unnamed suspects, have been committing similar crimes in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey where they have stolen approximately $200,000 worth of vehicles and valuables since July 2024.

On Sept. 19, Pinto said New Jersey State Police saw Robinson with a gun at a location in Irvington, New Jersey. He was taken into custody after a brief motor vehicle pursuit, according to Pinto.

Pinto said Robinson will face firearms and a several other charges in New Jersey. He was being held as a fugitive from justice until his extradition back to Connecticut to face charges, according to Pinto.

On Aug. 22, Pinto said New York City Police apprehended a juvenile who was also involved in the Lordship home invasion.

The juvenile was apprehended while they were committing another home invasion in Brooklyn, New York, according to Pinto. They have been extradited back to Connecticut to face charges in connection with the Lordship incident.

“The Stratford Police Department anticipates more suspects will be charged for their roles in the Lordship incident,” Pinto wrote.
