What does the local hero do?
Former Marine and current Police Sergeant
Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?
Since 2013, Jim has represented the Soto family as the annual Vicki Soto 5k race director.
Through successful partnerships with local and state businesses, this event just celebrated its tenth year on November 5th. The Vicki Soto 5k always draws a crowd from near and far and raises funds for educational scholarships for future teachers, literacy programs and fulfills classroom libraries for local teachers.
Jim's steadfast and continued dedication to his family, his community and the life and legacy of Victoria Soto, our local hero lost on 12/14/12, continues to inspire us all.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?
Jim is a humble man who, like his time as a U.S. Marine and currently in his role as a police Sergeant, is a professional at putting the needs of others before his own.
Thank you for all you do, Jim Wiltsie !
