Stratford Man, 23, Critically Injured In Shooting In New Haven: Police
The man was taken to the hospital after the shooting, according to police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — It was around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when cops, assigned to the bar detail, heard a gunshot in the area of Temple and Crown streets, police posted to "X." Officers found the male victim, 23, from Stratford, suffering from gunshot wounds. Taken to Yale New Haven Hospital just blocks away, police said Sunday, his condition was critical but stable.
Police said officers were able to determine that the shooting stemmed from a "large fight," in front of the parking garage at Crown and Temple streets. Police said a "black male with short dread locks, wearing a white T-shirt and black pants drew a firearm and shot and an individual involved in the fight, the bullet missed the individual and struck the victim who was standing nearby."
"The victim did not appear to be involved in the fight and was not the intended target," police said.
