Stratford Reps Celebrate Sikorksy Deal For Black Hawk Helicopters
According to a statement issued by the Army on June 27, the contract could potentially be worth a total of $4.4 billion.

State Representatives Phil Young (D- 120th) and Joseph Gresko (D- 121st) are celebrating the Black Hawk utility helicopter contract won by the Stratford based aircraft manufacturer Sikorsky. News outlet Defense News reported that that Sikorsky had won its 10th five-year contract worth $2.3 billion for 120 H-60 Mike-model Black Hawk utility helicopters with options for an additional 135 aircrafts for both the Army and other customers through Foreign Military Sales.

"This is excellent news for our entire community," said Rep. Young. "Sikorsky Aircraft is an integral part of Stratford, and this deal ensures that it will continue to be for the foreseeable future."
“Stratford is the premier vertical lift manufacturing hub in the world,” said Rep. Gresko. “This tremendous deal will not only ensure new helicopter production by Sikorsky Aircraft will continue right here in Stratford, but it will also allow Sikorsky and the surrounding area to maintain thousands of jobs for local residents for years to come.”
