Stratford Resident Named GNAC Player Of The Week

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford’s Jayquan Kirkland, a junior on the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team, was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for his contributions on the court this past week.

In the Falcons' 95-71 win at home over Rutgers-Newark on Nov. 25, Kirkland scored a career-high 31 points, going 11-for-13 from the field, including 7-for-8 from 3-point range.

Kirkland also had three rebounds, one steal, and one block.

Kirkland leads the team in scoring at 18 points per game while shooting 48.8 percent from 3-point range.
