Virtual Service for Businesses at Stratford Library

Library now provides virtual meetings with CTSBDC advisors

The Stratford Library announces that they are one of 27 Connecticut libraries selected to serve as a Virtual Small Business Development Center. Connecticut public libraries play a vital role in helping businesses and entrepreneurs access information and services to help them succeed. The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CTSBDC) announced the start of a new program designed to link its services to small businesses and individuals considering starting a business through libraries.

Called Virtual CTSBDC, this program enables clients to access their CTSBDC business advisor via the Internet in real time face-to-face conversations. Clients can now have a “virtual” meeting at the Stratford Library without the need for either client or advisor to travel distances. The program allows clients to share documents, work on applications for funding and update progress, all with the security required to ensure confidentiality. CTSBDC has provided a laptop to the Stratford Library which will be made available on a scheduled basis free of charge.

Stratford Library Director Barbara Blosveren noted that the new program supports the Library’s ongoing mission to empower its citizens and enrich the community by expanding access to innovation, information, ideas and inspiration. “We’re excited to participate in this innovative program that will benefit the residents and local economy of Stratford,” she said.
