April 5: Wet Weather Today

1. There will be rain throughout the day and a thunderstorm is possible before 3 p.m. The overall chance of precipitation is 90 percent. The high temperature is 59 °F today. It will drop to 47 °F as clouds and rain come in. The wind will come from the west at around 16 mph and gusts may reach 28 mph. The rain will likely continue until around 8 p.m. when the clouds will start to clear. The overnight low is 32 °F, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The Suffield Board of Education will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Suffield Middle School. Look for the whole story tomorrow on Suffield Patch.

3. Visit the New England Air Museum at 7 p.m. to learn about the history of Pratt & Whitney and why the engine manufacturer has been so successful since its inception. Find out more here.

4. Suffield Street will be closed to through traffic starting on Monday. The bridge over Stony Brook will be replaced and construction is expected to take about eight months – until the end of November.
