On Campus: Great Achievements By College Students From Suffield

SUFFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Emporia State University, Emporia KS

• Arianna Flagg of West Suffieldwas one of over 500 students who graduated from Emporia State University in May 2025. Flagg graduated with a Master of Science degree in health, physical education & recreation.

Goodwin University, East Hartford CT

• Jalissa Masarone of Suffield has earned a spot on the Goodwin University President's List for spring 2025. Jalissa is one of 321 students to make the President's List, reserved for those who demonstrate exemplary academic performance. Inclusion on the President's List requires a student to earn a 4.0 GPA during a given academic session.
• Kayla Desousa and Katherine Messenger, both of Suffield, achieved Dean's List status for the spring 2025 session. Dean's List inclusion requires a student to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, the equivalent of an A- average, during a given academic session. The student must also be enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits to qualify.

Hamilton College, Clinton NY

• Sophia Tosone, of Suffield, has been named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the spring 2025 semester. Tosone, a rising senior majoring in neuroscience, is a graduate of Suffield Academy. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must be a current member of the Class of 2025, 2026 or 2027, have carried a course load of four or more graded credits throughout the semester, and earned an average GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

University of Tampa, Tampa FL

• Rowan Shanahan, of West Suffield, earned dean's list honors at University of Tampa as a junior in the spring 2025 semester. Shanahan is majoring in allied health. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean's list.
