Get Out Guide: Plays, Poetry, Pucks - Feb. 11 - Feb. 14
Hey Suffield! Check out these weekend activities including UConn hockey outside at Rentschler Field, poetry in Windsor and comedy in Chicopee, MA.

It’s Thursday and Suffield Patch has its second installment of the Get Out Weekend Planner, with five weekend events and destinations that won’t disappoint.
1. OPERA HOUSE PLAYERS PRESENT THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
Where/When: , 107 Main Street, Broad Brook, CT. Shows are on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: This musical comedy features six overachieving teenage spelling bee participants trying to win “the spelling championship of a lifetime.” The Broad Brook Players have rated the production PG-13, so leave the little ones at home.
Pricing: Reserved seating, adults pay $21 and those older than 60 and younger than 12 pay $17.

2. WHALERS FEST 2011: UCONN HOCKEY DOUBLEHEADER
Where/When: Rentschler Field, 615 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT. The UConn men play at 1 p.m. and the women play at 4 p.m.
Why Go: See both UConn Huskies hockey teams take the outdoor ice on Sunday. The men take on Sacred Heart and the women skate against Providence College. See two hockey games under the open sky, the way they were meant to be played.
Pricing: Tickets are general admission and good for both games. Adults pay $10 and seniors, children and UConn students pay $5.
Where/When: The Windsor Art Center at the corner of Central Street and Mechanic Street on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Why Go: See experienced poets Polly Brody and Brad Davis perform selections from their bodies of work, along with a musical interlude by flutist Minta White.
Pricing: Free.
Where/When: Little Theatre of Manchester at Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road, Manchester, CT, on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Accomplished area folk duo Aztec Two-Step celebrate their 40th anniversary with a performance to honor Little Theatre of Manchester’s 20th anniversary at Cheney Hall. Little Theater is calling the performance a most memorable show.
Pricing: VIP seating costs $40 and general admission costs $30.
5. JENNIFER COOLIDGE AT THE HUKELAU
Where/When: The Hukelau at 705 Memorial Drive, Chicopee, MA, on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy this adults-only comedy show with a full service bar and Chinese, Polynesian and American cuisine. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the Hukelau is expecting a packed house, so parties with fewer than six members may have to share a table.
Pricing: Tickets cost $30. Valid photo ID is required for entry.
