We have five events ready for you to peruse for this week, just in time to find some fun activities during school vacation.

Where/When: Saturday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the XL Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza, Hartford.

Why Go: See the Globetrotters take on their archrivals, the Washington Generals, in the XL Center. Never content to follow trends, the Globetrotters have innovated a 4-point shot from two spots 35 feet from the rim for their games this season. Whistle along with Sweet Georgia Brown and see some of the most entertaining basketball around.
Pricing: Tickets range from $16.25 to $137.
KIDS VACATION CAMP AT WHAT’S COOKING
Where/When: Thursday, Feb. 24 and Friday, Feb. 25, 9 a.m. to noon at 41 Maple St., East Longmeadow, MA.
Why Go: Have your kids learn some fun recipes and cooking skills, and get them out of the house, at the Kids Vacation Camp at What’s Cooking. Events so far this week included cake decorating. Call ahead to register and find out specific themes of the day.
Pricing: The daily fee is $35.
Where/When: Wednesday, Feb. 23 through Friday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Windsor Historical Society, 96 Palisado Ave., Windsor.
Why Go: Visit the Windsor Historical Society’s Hands-On-History Learning Center to take part in a time-honored tradition. Make your own candles with multicolored paraffin wax, try on period clothing and even test a historic children’s rope bed. A parent or guardian must accompany children.
Pricing: The whole family pays $10. Individuals: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for children and $2 for members.
Where/When: Saturday, Feb. 26, 10:30 a.m. at the Mary Cheney Library, 586 Main St., Manchester, CT.
Why Go: Story, poetry, song and interactivity are the highlights of this performance from Nzinga’s Daughters. The group is performing to celebrate Black History Month.
Pricing: Free.
Where/When: Friday, Feb. 25, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Connecticut Historical Society, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford.
Why Go: The society's hands-on and interactive exhibits are free to students when accompanied by a paying adult.
Pricing: Free.
