1. Suffield Parks & Recreation Summer Camps and Programs

Suffield Parks & Recreation offers a variety of programs to Suffield residents. There are multi-week, multi-activity indoor and outdoor programs and shorter, more focused programs featuring cooking, art and specific sports. 2. Excursions in Learning, Manchester Community College   

Manchester Community College’s Excursions in Learning programs offer a wealth of engaging educational experiences for kindergarteners to kids in 8th grade. Most programs last one or two weeks. There are programs concentrated on technology, culinary skills and leadership (including an intensive ropes course component). Programs run in the middle of August and July.

3. YWCA Camp Aya-Po, Somers

Camp Aya-Po offers multiple sessions featuring new and traditional camp activities for boys and girls from age 5 to age 15, including a counselor in training program for older kids. Four of the five two-week sessions offer an overnight option as well. Contact the YWCA of the Hartford Region for more information.

4. Camp Woodstock YMCA, Woodstock

Camp Woodstock offers the classic overnight summer camp experience for kids. They have four two-week sessions, running consecutively from June 26 through August 20, along with single-week sessions. Camp Woodstock also offers adventure trips for teenagers.

5. Northwest Park Summer Camp, Windsor

Northwest Park offers a summer camp experience focused on nature, with multiple one-week programs running from the end of June through the end of July. The camp features science, farming and nature education activities in an active, outdoor environment. Campers from kindergarteners to 8th graders are welcome.
