Police: Suffield Woman Falsified Assault Claim

Police have arrested a Suffield woman who, they say, falsely claimed she was sexually assaulted by an unidentified, ski-masked assailant in her home in April.

According to Suffield Police Captain Craig Huntley, Wilson admitted to having falsified the claim during an interview with local authorities.

The woman, identified as 29-year-old Kelly Wilson, was found on the floor of her home "visibly wounded," according to a statement released by the Suffield Police Department in April.

Both state and local authorities launched an investigation at the time, as Wilson told authorities she was beaten and assaulted by the masked man.

Wilson was released from custody after posting a $50,000 bond, police said Monday.
