  1. Friends and family of Roya Mohammadi, 29, of West Haven, whose body was found four months ago in a river, are demanding justice. They are urging the police to investigate her death on a higher level and for police accountability, stating that they are not taking her life seriously and ignoring the fact that she was a victim of ongoing documented domestic violence. Friends of Mohammadi reported her missing back in March. (FOX61 Hartford)
  2. On Monday, state officials announced that they would spend $170 million to help protect homeowners and properties in Hartford's north end, addressing decade-long flooding issues. The old sewer system used in the neighborhood overflows, causing flooding and sewage spilling into basements during hard rain. Five infrastructure projects are scheduled to start this year. (WTNH.com)
  3. Rashawn Samms, of Hamden, has been sentenced to five years in prison for illegally possessing a firearm in connection with drug trafficking. Samms was arrested by New Haven Police in June 2022 and found with a handgun, narcotics, digital scales, and $628 in cash. The gun had apparently been used in an incident that occurred in 2021.
