  1. On Friday, a camp leader was attacked by a bobcat at Selden Neck State Park in nearby Lyme. Officials report the victim was attacked by the big cat while sleeping in a hammock.The leader and two other employees killed the bobcat, which was later confirmed to test positive for rabies; all three individuals received treatment for minor injuries.   2. Multiple municipalities within driving distance of The Haddams-Killingworth area have postponed their Independence Day fireworks displays due to anticipated storms. Norwalk has rescheduled its fireworks to Jul. 5, while Madison, Meriden, and Naugatuck have all postponed to Jul. 7; Hartford Bonanza will take place on Jul. 8, and Waterbury's Food Trucks and Fireworks Extravaganza is rescheduled for Jul. 9. As of yesterday (Sun, Jul. 2) evening, no cancelations have been announced for the following fireworks near The Haddams-Killingworth. (WTNH.com)

The Killingworth Library Association invites the community to a Poetry & Meditation session on Friday, Jul. 7 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be led by Stephen Watson of Someday Farm, and take place under the tent on the back lawn.
