In an effort to ease the pain at the pump Connecticut residents are currently experiencing, legislative Republicans in the state are calling for Connecticut to suspend its gross receipts tax on gasoline until July 1 and for the federal government to suspend the 18.4 cent tax on gasoline. Combined, the suspensions would cut 44.8 cents per gallon from the cost of gasoline. (Patch)

  3. March 18 to 20 will be a weekend dedicated to new musicals and theater arts at the Goodspeed Opera House. As part of this fine tradition, an impressive trio of shows, composed by women, will be staged. (Middletown Press)

Raising more than just funds, the Killingoworth Lions, along with the Killingworth Historical Society (KHS) will be holding a benefit concert on Sunday, March 27, at the Haddam-Killingworth Middle School auditorium. Monies from the fundraiser will go to the construction of a large barn behind the Society's headquarters, which are based at the Parmalee Farm Homestead. The concert will highlight the Orleans band and the Aztec Two-Step. (Zip06.com)
