- This weekend is a theater fanatic's dream. The Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals is back March 18 to 20 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam. It will feature staged readings of new musicals-in-progress, talks with theater producers and historians, seminars on new trends, and late night “festival cabaret” concerts at the Gelston House. - Governor Ned Lamont announced that his administration has received notification from the U.S. Children's Bureau that the Family First Prevention Plan submitted by the State of Connecticut has been approved. This legislation allows families greater access to mental health services, substance use treatment, and in-home skill-based parenting supports intended to stabilize families and keep them safely together. - One man's mission to help Ukrainians. Jerry Gil, a former Old Saybrook firefighter, EMT and Army veteran is organizing a humanitarian trip to Ukraine to help the refugees.
