- The Killingworth Library is one of 17 Middlesex County libraries receiving a $2,500 grant to spread “kindness and fun” within the community. This wonderful gift is made possible thanks to the Peach Pit Foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation of Middlesex County.(Facebook)

- A highly contagious strain of flu hits Connecticut; 'Bird Flu'. Connecticut Fish and Wildlife just posted a warning on social media for Connecticut residents concerning the discovery by CT DEEP staff, (Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection) and USDA staff, of highly pathogenic avian influenza in wild mallard ducks. The worst part? It's highly adaptable, which according to ct.gov, should it mutate and become a human to human transmittable disease, could possibly lead to a new pandemic. (i95rock.com)
