Pushing lawmakers to ban second-generation anticoagulant rodenticide poisons, Killingworth-based A Place Called Hope, a rehabilitation and education center for birds of prey, explains why these rodenticides are so dangerous and the negative effect they are having on birds of prey throughout the state. 2. East Haddam Fire Department congratulates its newest Firefighter Sarah Blaschik. Sarah is the 9th volunteer firefighter the department has recruited this year. (Facebook)
3. The Haddam Killingworth High School 2021-22 Second Quarter Honor Roll has been announced. Congratulations to all the students who worked so hard! (HK Now)
4. The Goodspeed Opera House, located in East Haddam, is one of 50 community organizations throughout the state that has received funds through the Neighborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program. According to the press release, the program, managed by the Department of Revenue Services, is designed to provide corporations with the option to make donations to nonprofits and municipal organizations in exchange for a tax credit.
