  1. On Thursday, Jun. 15, at 6:30 p.m., the Middlesex County Extension Council Inc. will hold its annual meeting, and the public community is invited to attend. This meeting will take place at the UConn Extension Center, down the road at 1066 Saybrook Road in Haddam. There will be a business meeting as well as an environmental presentation given shortly after over the White Oak Initiative. (hk-now.com)
  2. The historic 1790s Ira Shailer House in Haddam was victim to an overnight fire and was completely destroyed. The Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit is still trying to discover how this occurrence took place around 2:50 a.m. There were not any individuals found in the house when the police and fire department arrived at the scene, and the disaster is currently under investigation.
