- Middlesex Community College has named Kimberly Hogan the new Chief Executive Officer, effective Jun. 2, 2023, as announced by John Maduko, M.D., president of Connecticut State Community College. Hogan's tenure will oversee the merging of the Middlesex campus and Meriden center with CT State Community College, set to be finalized on Jul. 1. The merged entities will subsequently be known as CT State Community College – Middlesex and CT State Middlesex – Meriden. (Middlesex Community College)
- The Haddam Scholarship Fund, Inc. has disclosed this year's recipients as Leah Chester, Kelsie Piela, and Tobin Prue on Jun. 4. Special recognitions were given to Prue with the Gary Courtright Award, Piela with the John Bertolini Memorial Scholarship, and Chester with the Dr. Kate Mead Award, as a testament to public contributions enabling Haddam graduates to advance their education. - Connecticut State Police arrested local resident Daria Rae McCabe, 22, of North Branford, after she was caught driving in the wrong direction on I-91 near North Haven, apparently under the influence of alcohol. The incident, occurring just past 2:30 a.m. on Jun. 4, revealed McCabe with glossy, bloodshot eyes and a noticeable scent of alcohol on her breath. Released on a $500 bond, McCabe is slated to make a court appearance in Meriden on Jun. 16. (Daily Voice)

- The town of Haddam will hold a Public Open House and Discussion to discuss the future of HES maintenance this Thursday, Jun. 8, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The town has applied for the CT Communities Challenge Grant Program and is currently in Round 3.
