Here are the top three stories in The Haddams-Killingworth today:

  1. Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection plans to conduct "prescribed burns" at three of the state's parks this season — and Machimoodus State Park in East Haddam is among them. The burns will take place at five distinct sites that make up 15.5 acres. An exact date has not been announced. (Patch)
  2. Here is a list of some of the newest and most interesting houses to hit the market in the Haddams-Killingworth area. (The Haddams-Killingworth Patch)
  3. Stop the time change! Twice a year we change our clocks, falling back in autumn and springing forward in spring. Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse is a supporter of eliminating the twice-annual clock changes, arguing that a permanent switch to Daylight Saving Time would benefit all Americans. On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate approved the legislation, titled the "Sunshine Protection Act," by unanimous consent. It now heads to the House of Representatives. (Patch)
