  1. The Killingworth Library will be hosting a seminar on Jun. 22 from 9:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. for veterans. The seminar will be led by Killingworth Veterans Representative Richard Mason who will discuss news and updates from the State and Federal VA.   2. The Haddam-Killingworth Recreation Department is seeking baseball players to join the Skyhawks Baseball Camp. This camp runs from Jun. 21-23 and is open to children between the ages of seven and 12. Campers will learn baseball fundamentals such as catching, throwing, fielding, and hitting, as well as teamwork and responsibility. Click here to register or learn more.   3. The Master Gardener Office at the Middlesex County Extension Center in Haddam is open for your gardening questions! The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Master Gardeners are available to answer gardening-related questions, provide advice on soil improvements, and suggest plants for particular locations. Master Gardeners can also assist with plant and insect identification. (HK-Now)

  • The Historic Haddam Middle Public Library is inviting patrons to bring laptops or pencils and paper to write at the library. The library offers comfortable chairs, wifi, and few distractions as you settle into your next writing project. (Historic Haddam Middle Public Library via Facebook)
  • In case you missed it, the Henry Carter Hull Library in nearby Clinton will be hosting an event called All About Opossums with Ferncroft Wildlife Rescue. On Jun. 21 at 5:00 p.m., attendees will learn about wildlife rehabilitation and meet two "opossum ambassadors." Children over the age of six may pet and have their pictures taken with opossums.
